Michal Farmer lists Dorcas Stone as a daughter of William Stone and Elizabeth Hardeman. Here's the information he has for her:
"Dorcas Stone, born circa 1775, Pittsylvania County, Virginia, died before 12 March 1803, married Bartholomew Smith, born circa 1763, will made 25 December 1849, proved October 1854, Dickson County, Tennessee. Bartholomew and Dorcas Smith had son, Mumford Smith. Bartholomew Smith married second, 12 March 1803, Davidson County, Tennessee, to Dorothy “Dolly” Everett, born circa 1777, daughter of John Everett and Ester Hardeman. Dorothy “Dolly” Everett was Dorcas Stone’s first cousin. [See #28, Dorothy “Dolly” Everett]."
Census records indicate my John Smith was born about 1803 in Tennessee. Bartholomew and Dolly were married March 12, 1803. If Dorcas died at about age 28 or younger, it's possible she died during childbirth. When was Mumford Smith born? Was John Smith Dorcas's son, instead of Dolly Smith's son - assuming, of course, he comes from this line in the first place?
Any help is appreciated.
