Returning yesterday from Christmas in Virginia, I stopped briefly at Rogersville in hopes of finding the house. Unfortunately (for me) the Stamps Library, the Heritage Association (old depot) and the Chamber of Commerce were all closed. I did not find the house. Please advise of the address and of any other name by which it possibly might be known.
A brochure titled "A Strolling Tour of Historic Rogersville, Tennessee" and published by the Rogersville Heritage Association lists 35 houses and cemeteries in Rogersville that are entered in the National Register of Historic Places. None are identified with Thomas Gibbons. I wonder if perhaps one of these should be now know by another name?
I am a descendant of Thomas Gibbons through his daughter Nancy Ann who married William Hord/Howard/Hoard.
