Need any info on this JOSIAH DAVIDSON who was born in 1802 NC and married MINERVA ELIZABETH THROGMORTON. Her THROGMORTON line is out of STANLY/Montgomery Co. NC and moved to Henry Co. TN. I think the name of RICHMOND DAVIDSON their son b. abt. 1845-1846 might have been for a RICHMOND GATES DAVIDSON who d. 1845 in ALABAMA. This RICHMOND GATES DAVIDSON was the son of PE CO. VA GEORGE DAVIDSON and wife BARZILLA ATKINS who moved to Montgomery Co. NC after about 1780 from VA.

Three DAVIDSON brothers moved from VA to Montgomery/Anson co. NC around 1780 era. These three brothers were GEORGE DAVIDSON, AMBROSE DAVIDSON and DANIEL DAVIDSON. George lived in Montgomery part of Anson Co. NC and Daniel lived along Browns Creek in Anson Co. NC ( or lower Anson Co. NC ). Montgomery Co. NC was formed in 1779 from the "Upper part of Anson Co. NC "

On the 1790 Montgomery Co. NC Census is listed George Davidson as well as a JOSIAH DAVIDSON, and we believe him to be the same JOSIAH DAVIDSON who had lived near Daniel Davidson when in Prince Edward ( or PE ) Co. VA prior to 1781. It might be this Josiah Davidson of Montgomery Co. NC 1790 census was the son of DANIEL DAVIDSON of ANSON CO. NC and that JOSIAH DAVIDSON was living near his uncle George Davidson in Montgomery Co. NC. If so, he would have been about the right age to have had a son named JOSIAH DAVIDSON b. 1802 in North Carolina. We have no verfiications on this JOSIAH DAVIDSON of Montgomery Co. NC other than his census info, and hard to know if his son could be the same person as the JOSIAH DAVIDSON b. 1802 NC who is on the 1850 HENRY CO. TN Census.
