My name is Jack Koon. My Father was Robert Henry Koon Jr and the relationship goes (with > meaning "son of")

Jack Koon > Robert Henry Koon Jr > Robert Henry Koon Sr > John Henry Koon > William Dalvephous Koon

By William is where I connect with the McCaughan line through his wife Margaret.

I've read this threat over and over and I'm just fascinated by Maple Grove now. I currently reside in Arizona but I really want to take a trip out there and probably will soon. I have family in the Knoxville Area as well as Nashville so I would be willing to travel there a few times and if anyone has any requests then I can probably oblige. I would actually intend to do a video walkthrough.

In the meantime, feast on this http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=RawhXOJigOc

I don't know if the person is going into the actual history of Maple Grove or will fictionalize his own background but I just thought this would be interesting to some.

My interest right now is in Tidelights though. I would either like to acquire a copy or have copies sent to me that I can digitalize then distribute amongst the family that I know.

Goodwill of CT seems to have one copy however it is right now priced at around $500+. I noticed in Amazon there is a brief description of there to be writing on the first page. I believe the Goodwill has priced the book according to that finding and not the work itself. I also believe that the author, Duggins, had passed away in that very same town or near it where that book is. I don't know how it could've ended up there if it was her own copy but it's there.

Another way to find the book is through worldcat.org. You can search by ISBN or simply author or title. It'll bring up the book and the locations of the libraries at which it's being held.

Another book of interest is http://www.amazon.com/Galbraith-clan-their-descendants-Zelph...

Galbraith clan and their descendants and Zelphia Lee Galbraith (Koon) is an author however I'm not certain whether she covered a section within the work or any specifics as to if she is a sole author. I actually have some sheets, or copies, that Zelphia had worked on to record genealogy and were eventually received by my Uncle Albert Koon. He is the one among our family who knows the most about relatives, ancestors and more. Working with him to update our Tree.

Anyways, there are a lot of people interested in my family who would thoroughly enjoy the either book.

If you can assist or have an idea or just want to chat and share things please email me greenlambproductions@yahoo.com

I am seeking to digitalize all of the family items among our possession at this point in time and I am debating a cross country trek to collect as much as I can. Please do not hesitate to contact me.

what is this book that you're speaking of?

greenlambproductions (at) yahoo.com is my personal email.

Zelpha (or Zelphia) would be one of my distant cousins. Not sure how the math works still for removed cousins and such but I do have a spot for a Zelphia on my tree. I'm simply curious about this book that you've mentioned. Did she write a book or a few pages of one? All that I could find was an index that listed the title you mentioned.

I am actually interested in what had been written, if anything, regarding the Koon/Galbraith Ancestry after their union and now that I'm hearing about it, I have interest in Galbraith as well. Please contact me at your earliest convenience.

James Lambie Russell (1927 - 1995) Looking for Scottish Relatives

I am looking for information on family members in Scotland for James Lambie Russell. He was born in Scotland in 1927 to Thomas Lambie and Elizabeth (Lang) Russell. He graduated from the University of Glasgow in 1958 (medical degree) and then moved to the United States sometime between 1958 and 1962 (when he applied for a SS# in New York). He lived in New York, then Virginia, then Texas and he died in 1995. He did not talk much about his past or his family that he left in Scotland. I believe he might have siblings named Betty, George, John and Thomas. I've hit a wall and hope somewhere out there might be able to knock down a brick or two.

Thank you for your reply. I learned that EMMA MASON's death certificate showed "removed". The Funeral homes records showed her body was taken to the Univ.of Tn for medical research in Memphis,Tn since the body was not claimed. This is terrible since her husband, William Hinton Mason was still living with his son in Canton, NC when she died. I have not been able to find out what her maiden name was.

Hi:

I am trying to find information on Nancy "Nannie" Elizabeth Rose Foster who married William O. Presley. She was born to Simpson Foster and Amanda "Manda" Handley. William was born in 1848 and died in 1923 in Knoxville, TN. I have found his grave site through findagrave.com and via 1920 census he was listed as a widower.
If anybody has any info on Nancy would be wonderful! Thanks!
~Blessings

My second or third cousin, was the governor of CO about 10 years ago. Bill Owens. My brothers, John Owens and Paul Owens met with him when he was governor. His grandfather was our grandfather's brother. Their parents had about 13 children. Some moved from IA to CO as far as I know.
You could look up Bill Owens, he is in Washington D.C. now, a lobbist I think and see if he may know anything.

When I did a search of Roach in messages at the Knox County board, I saw a post having to do with a Hennard who married a Roach that died after 1910. Unfortunately, the message is very old - 1998 - and I never found it to see if the question was answered.

I believe the poster was seeking information on a woman I know as Belle Hennard and that the Roach is Alga S. Roach (full name Algernon S. Roach). Alga died in 1910.

Alga was a brother to my 2nd g-grandfather, Absalom Roach, who came to Texas in 1855, and the son of John Roach & Sarah Roman(s)of Grainger County, Tennessee.

Anyone still needing informtion on this family may contact me directly at bjrb@hotmail.com. Please use subject line tht I will recognize, such as Roach family research or Alga S. Roach, etc.

Betty Roach Braune
Texas

If this is the Lulu beaver who was married to john grove my great grandfather Then whoever wrote out her death certificate knew nothing about her??? They put an S on the end of some names. They put Feb. 8th for birth? But in my family Bible it clearly says she was born on Jan, 8th? They put N.C. is where father was born but in all the census Lulu puts Virginia and Missouri???? Lulu Beaver in my family was suppose to be Cherokee indian but the mother is a caucation woman Martha edmonson? Could this be a step mother? Who wrote out the death certificate? A step brother maybe and why wouldnt have my great grandfather did this? I have never heard of the name evaline or hattier???? Now, it is all over the ancestry.com? So, Im not convinced this is the correct death certificate? I know they tried to hide she was cherokee back then but my Grandmother is STILL alive and she has told me about her....kk so does anyone else wonder about this?????

I believe this is the same Leopold line that I have been researching. Please let me know if you are still on Ancestry, I would love to compare notes and see what information we can share.

Thanks
Kathi

DNA Results- Ford, Pitts, Rhynes

My paternal cousin submitted dna to Ancestry for me in a search for family connections. Our closest connections with only 2 markers difference were Larry Pitts and Roy Freemont Ford. Pitts and Ford markers were identical. Our paternal name is Rhynes, rynes, rines, Rhines, Ryan from Bradley co Tennessee, William Hamilton Rynes ( Hamilton Rhines on the 1850 Bradley Co Tn Census). Wm Hamilton Rhines was my gg grandfather. Does anyone out there have DNA results from Ancestry that might match mine or an explanation or information? I am sending this query because I see your family name is also from Tn, Knoxville, very close to my family area of Bradley, or Chattanooga, Cleveland Tn.

If you are still searching for information about Edgar Owens/Edward Walker, I may have some for you. My mother in law, who passed away in 2009 at the age of 92, and whose name was Joda Lee Owens was the daughter of Joseph Owens and Martha Wyrick. She knew she had a brother named Edgar who was adopted by a family named Walker, but she never knew him. As far as she could remember, her father passed away soon after her birth and she was sent to an orphanage in Knoxville, and then to the Knoxville Industrial School when she was older. She also had a sister named Irene and a half sister named Pauline. Feel free to email me if you are interested. I don't have pictures or anything, just what she related to me from memory.
