MANSFIELD, OH: Mary Frances Tolliver-Scruggs, 78, of 828 King St, died Friday, August 12, 2011 in Ohio State University Medical Center, Columbus, Ohio after a brief illness.
Frances was born Wednesday, May 31, 1933 to the late Oscar and Nettie Allen Liles in Iron City, Tennessee, and had lived in Mansfield, Ohio for the past 59 years.
Frances was a faithful member of the Oasis of Love Church where she served on the Usher and Mother's Boards, she also participated in Tuesday Morning Prayer Band.
Frances is survived by her husband, Charles Scruggs Sr.; five children, Leslie Tolliver, Mansfield, Angelia "Angi" and Chris Tolliver, Columbus, Joy (Sidney) West, Chillicothe, and Robert (Jacqueline) Tolliver Jr., Houston, Texas; four step-children, Charlestine and Edward Scruggs, Columbus, Charles, Jr. (Melissa), Ricky Scruggs, and Jackie (Curtis) Caldwell, Mansfield; ten grandchildren and seven great grandchildren; four sisters, Jean Roach and Thelma Saddler, Florence, Alabama; Pearl Bumpus, Lawrenceburg, Tennessee; Mildred Liles, Washington D.C.; brother-in-law: Lorenzo (Frances) Tolliver, Mansfield, OH; numerous neices, nephews and extended family and friends.
In addition to her parents Frances was also preceded in death by her first husband, Robert J.Tolliver, Sr., one grandchild, and thirteen siblings.
Friends may call Wednesday, after 2 P.M. in the Oasis of Love Church where family will receive friends from 5-6 P.M. Funeral services will begin at 6 P.M. that evening with Dr. Walter E Jordan, II, officiating.
Interment will be in Mansfield Cemetery Thursday at 10 A.M. www.williamsfuneralservices.com
