Classification: Query
This is all I know of my Helton Hilton heritage. Antoinette Trimble (possibly a Balzora) married Hendry Leigh or Lay. Together they had children one of whom was Celia Balzora Leigh born June 15, 1855, she died March 4th, 1925. Celia Balzora Leigh married Matthew Floyd Parton. He was born in Kentucky July 16, 1854. His parent's were James Parton and a Delilah (or possibly??Lilah Henderson??) Henderson. James Parton's mom and dad are still unknown but his brother s and sisters are listed as Sara Parton born 1837 marrying a Zachariah Ray and unknown death date. Elizabeth (my namesake) born 1938 married John W. Long and died June 19, 1956, James Riley Parton (Riley is supposed to be a family name as well) born 1842 married May 31, 1858 to Elizabth Van Diver, Marshall Willam Parton was born 1844 and it is said he died in a Confederate Prison in Andersonville, Georgia., Joseph A. Parton born 1846 married Elizabeth Ann Meece on May 31, 1858. Permelia Parton born 1849 married William Henry Meece (brother of Elizabeth Ann Meece)_ on January 11, 1866, Charles Marion (yes another name handed down) Parton was born April 11, 1851 married August 21, 1877 to Elizabeth Lawson (Hudson) and then died January 25, 1939 in Pulaski Co. , Kentucky., Matthew Floyd Parton (My great great grandpa) married Celia Balzora Leigh, he was born July 16, 1854 and died October 20, 1938, Napolean B. Parton (what was the "B" for?) Born 1856 married in 1877 to Mary S. Gaines. Matthew Floyd Parton who was a coal miner (so was my grandfather) marrried Dora Hilton...WE DONT KNOW WHO HER MOTHER WAS...WE THINK A MAN NAMED JOAB HILTON WAS HER FATHER..IT IS SAID HE WAS KILLED IN A HUNTING ACCIDENT AT PINE VILLAGE OR IS BURIED AT PINE VILLAGE WHATEVER..,.wE CAN'T FIND THE HISTORY TO THE WOMAN Matthew Floyd Parton married...she was a Hilton and her father was a Joab Hilton. John W. Parton and Dora Partonhad a bunch of kids too. Check other surname helper sites for more detail on other individual family specifics or e-mail me with questions at my e-mail Kittyparton@hotmail.com. My grandmother was Bessie Louise H E lton Helton. Her mother was Ruby Esmeradla Wilson who married a Dave Helton (William) is in parantheses next to the name Dave Helton which my mother wrote on the back of a copy of a photo. No one seems to know who the grandparent's of my grandmother are? My grandmother was kind of "fast" I think, maybe I'm wrong? She had my Aunt Betty with a man named Thomas Jenkins. She then moved to Ohio or Indiana where my grandfather Jay Eastel Parton married first to Ethel Mabes left Kentucky/Tennessee area and took my grandmother and her small daughter Betty Lou with him to California. My grandmother had a brother and sister Alfred Helton and Chrystine or Christine (It was Chrystine in a census) and then two half brother's Herbert and Harold Andresen. Some of this information has been supplied to me by my mother. Sometimes the information may be not quite accurate. Feel free to use "creative checking out"
