Married Mary Douglass 24 MAR 1850 in McMinn Co., TN. James M. Collier and his wife Mary accompanied Douglass and Collier families on westward migration to Madison Co., IA in mid-to-late 1850s. After outbreak of hostilities during War Between the States, James M. Collier and Mary Douglas Collier moved to NW Arkansas near present day Ft. Smith remaining there for the remainder of their lives.
