James Lovell Wattses father was James Watts b. 1808 in Davidson Co., TN. His father was Thomas Watts b. abt 1775-80 in either NC or VA according to census records but, he could have come from anywhere. The earliest record we have on Thomas Watts is him being listed on the 1805 Davidson Co., TN tax list. He married Elizabeth Betsy Jones in 1807 in Davidson Co., TN. I have often wondered if some of the Todd Co., KY Watts were related in some way to my line. Thomas Watts and his family migrated into Robertson Co., TN in the 1830's. James Watts comes us missing from the TN census records after 1870. I wonder if he was in KY after that. In the 1870 census he and Elizabeth Jackson Miles has several small children. Do you know of any possible connection??
