UC MESSENGER, Monday, July 12, 1999: Jubie Henderson, 85, of Montgomery, Ala., a former resident of Fulton, died July 5, 1999, at Baptist East Hospital in Montgomery. A well-known artist and wood carver, he had retired and had lived in this area most of his life.
Services will be 11 a.m. Saturday at Hornbeak Funeral Home in Fulton, with the Rev. Roger Bone and Jack Taylor officiating. Burial will follow in Hickman City Cemetery.
He was born March 7, 1914, in Dukedom, son of the late Benjamin Goodin and Leona (Kingston) Henderson. He was married to the former Edith Elgin and was a member of South Fulton Baptist Church.
Other survivors include four sons, Ben Henderson of Ashland, Va., Joel Henderson of Montgomery, Ala., Jubie Henderson of Memphis and David Henderson of Springfield, Va.; his daughter, Glenda Taylor of Canal Fulton, Ohio; and 12 grandchildren, 16 great-grandchildren and a great-great-grandchild.
He was also preceded in death by three brothers and seven sisters.
