My ancestor, Thomas GAW was an early settler of Jackson Co., TN. His grandson Thomas GAW b 1826 married Elanda FISK, d/o Moses and Nancy SHULTZ FISK of Overton Co. Four GAW siblings married RUTLEDGE siblings. The RUTLEDGE siblings were children of Thomas or Peter RUTLEDGE of SC who married as a 2nd husband to Matilda ___?___ BRANHAM. I do not know Matilda's maiden name, or the name of her husband. I believe Matilda and her BRANHAM spouse married in NC or SC (Thomas RUTLEDGE was from around the Greenville/Abbeville area of SC). Matilda had 3 sons by BRANHAM, George, Nathan, and Richard. At least one married and had issue. I am hoping you might have info to connect in the BRANHAM that will give me a clue as to who Matilda was. She died in 1844 in Barry Co., MO as Matilda DAVIDSON. Her 3 BRANHAM sons are mentioned in her estate records as well as her RUTLEDGE children.
