I am also researching the Lyle family of Roane County. I am trying to locate the descendants of Addison and Esther (Alexander) Lyle. Addison was born about 1808 in Tennessee. His mother was Fanny Lyle (the rest of his ancestry can be found in the book "Ancestry and Posterity of the Lyles.") Addison married Esther on February 7, 1833 in Roane County, TN. Their oldest child, Ezra Lyle is my husband's third great-grandfather and married Clementine Richardson in Roane County on July 26, 1855. The other children of Addison and Esther are Jane E. born about 1837 (possibly Elizabeth Jane who married George Wheat), Margaret L. born about 1838, John born about 1839, Mary L. born about 1841, Eliza born about 1842, Sarah C. born about 1844, and Amanda C. born about 1847. I have traced most of Ezra Lyle's descendants and would be happy to share what I have found. I am hoping you can help me find Addison and Esther's other children, and find out what happened to them after 1850.
