John Giesler from Samuel Stephens - 100 acres
This Indenture made this twenty first day of February in the year of our Lord one thousand eight hundred and fifteen Between Samuel Stephens of the County of Sullivan and State of Tennessee on the one part and John Giesler of the County and State aforesaid on the other part. Witnesseth that the said Samuel Stephens for and in consideration of the sum of four hundred dollars to him in hand paid by the said John Giesler the receipt whereof him the said Samuel Stephens doth hereby acknowledge hath given, granted, bargained and sold and doth by these presents give, grant, bargain and sell alien infee of and confirm unto the aforesaid John Giesler his heirs and assigns in fee simple a certain tract or parcel of land lying and being in the County of Sullivan as aforesaid on the South side of Holston River - Beginning at a Cedar Stump on the bank of the river thence South one hundred and seventy four poles to two White Oaks on the Original line of Robert Sellars, thence with the said original line East one hundred and one poles to a White Oak and stump, Gross's corner, therewith another line of the aforesaid original survey north one hundred and eighty poles to a White Oak onto a Sourwood on the riverbank thence down the river to the beginning containing by estimation one hundred acres to the same more or less. To Have and To Hold the aforesaid land and premises together with the appurtenances to the same belonging or any use appertaining to the only purpose, use and behoof of him the said John Giesler his heirs and assigns forever and the aforesaid Samual Stephens doth further consent and agree to all and singular the appurtenances to warrant and forever defend from and against the just or lawful claim of any person or persons whatsoever.
Witness whereof him the said Samuel Stephens has hereunto set his hand and affixed his seal the day and year first above written. Signed, sealed and delivered in presence of..............Samuel L. Stephens
State of Tennessee, Sullivan County, February Session 1815.
This within Deed was executed in open Court by Samuel L. Stephens party thereto. Let it be registered.
