Classification: Query
My G-G-G-?-?-G'Father, Major William Lauderdale, circa 1830, owned a plantation neighboring that of "Stonewall" and as a friend of Jackson's, was promoted to Major TN Vols, chased the Creek "runaways" (Seminoles)South to FL, where he built Ft Lauderdale. I am missing one complete generation, perhaps two. Lauderdale was released from active vol duty around 1838 in Baton Rougue, where he died from a respiratory ailment. His final resting place, later obscured by "progress". There was/is, supposedly a Lauderdale grave site/yard, near the Goose Creek area, near Hartsville, Sumner, TN. Any info/input would be greatly appreciated. Tks, Dale R. dalewr99@hotmail.com
