I have been trying to info on William C Kilgore. The 1900 Census states he was in living in Louisiana with his wife Ida Mae Dempsey and there children. The 1910 puts him in Arkansas. He was born between 1863-1870 is my guess. He states that he & both parents were born in Tennesse. He was married around 1896 location unknown. I am assuming he died between 1914-1920. I found his wife and children in Arkansas 1920 Census, shows her as widow and their last child was born in 1913. That is how I figured his possible death year. ny thread at all would sure be appreciated.

James Brown b. 1821;?related to Nancy Brown Sparkman b.1825 TN

Seeking information on my 3rd great-grandfather James Brown (b.1821 TN) and his possible relationship to Nancy Brown Sparkman, b. 1825 TN. James married Mary Ann Holder (b.1827 NC) in 1843 in White, TN. James & Mary Ann were living in Van Buren Co, TN in 1850 and moved to Ballard, KY c. 1854. In 1870 Nancy Brown Sparkman, widow of Truston Sparkman, was living in Ballard, KY with a Willam Brown b.1844 listed in her household. This William (b.1844) appears to be the eldest son of James Brown b. 1821. I am trying to piece together whether Nancy & James were siblings or cousins in an attempt to establish James' ancestry.

Nancy & Truston Sparkman were living in Van Buren, TN in 1850 and had moved to Barry, Mo by 1860. The fact that Nancy moved to Ballard, Ky after the death of Truston in Missouri & the fact that James' son William is living in her household in Ballard, KY seems something more than coincidence.

Any info related to these two Browns possible ancestry would be greatly appreciated.

If you have an Ancestry leaf that connects you to Find-A-Grave, please verify the information that is created on the memorials for the above mentioned cemetery. The memorials for my Simmons family are incorrect and I cannot get the person who made them to correct the information. I contacted Find-A-Grave and they have not corrected the incorrect information. I have left notes on the incorrect memorials and made new memorials, however, the Ancestry leaf that pops up for my great grandfather connects to the incorrect memorial. We owe it to our ancestors to get the information right.

I livein western NY which is where my grandfather (Ernest Sullivan) moved to along with many brother's and sisters and his mother. His father Willy Sullivan was still in Tenn. and I am not sure about too much information about the family there and really wanting to learn more.
In Spencer there is a road now named Captain Carter Road. There once was an old house at the end of this road I always referred to as the Carter Place. I am not sure who Captain Carter is but I would love to have a photo or photos of the old house (the carter place) that once stood at the end of this road. Also I would be curious to know who Captain Carter is.

Thanks,
June Schippers

Re: Marriage lookup for Frank or F. L. Rasco

Rutha or Ruthie Roberts was Frank L. Rascoe's second or perhaps third wife. His first wife was Martha Seamans who died about 1862. They had two children: Mary M. Rascoe and John Seamans Rascoe. The 1870 census of Van Buren County shows Frank's wife as B. E. Rascoe age 19. This could be the same person as Rutha Roberts Rascoe. Frank L. Rascoe married Rutha Roberts about 1870-71 and they had two daughters, Martha Rascoe born about 1872 and Florence born about 1875.

Frank Rascoe moved his second family to Warm Springs, Randolph County Arkansas sometimes before 1880. In the 1880 census of Randolph County, Ark F. L. Rascoe with his two daughters, Martha and Florence Rascoe are enumerated. F.L. Rascoe list himself as a widower but his wife Rutha is listed in the 1880 census of White County Tennessee as a cook in the household of A. C. Parker family.

I am not sure if Rutha when to Arkansas and then returned to Tennessee or just never went to Arkansas. The book, "The Uneven Yoke" implies that she went to Arkansas.

Frank had turned his two eldest children, Mary and John over to the care of his mother and eldest sister Mahala Rascoe when his first wife, Martha Seaman died and Mahala raised then untill they were grown.

Frank L. Rascoe is buried somewhere in Randolph County but I do not know in which cemetery or if his grave has a headstone. He died in 1885. Rutha Roberts Rascoe is buried in the old Roberts cemetery four miles north of Doyle, White County Tennessee. Her headstone reads "Rutha Rascoe,
wife of Frank Rascoe, 1850 - 1889"

The book "The Uneven Yoke" hints at some sort of scandal, sexual promiscuity or infidelity or family disapproval of the marriage surrounding the marriage of Frank and Rutha.
May have been the primary reason for moving to Arkansas and leaving the two elder children in Tennessee.

I posted James' will on the Van Buren Co,TN site several years ago; he was listed as 'James Simon' on the will I found in the Nashville library.
Perhaps you already have made this discovery.
Berna S.

I am trying to find confirmation of the parents of Jane E. (East or maybe Easton) Hill, wife of Landsen Myers. Her marriage record doesn't list her parents. Her death certificate lists only her father as William Hill, but I have sufficient reason to believe that her father is John B. Hill from Ohio. Census records seem to support her father as being John B. Hill. It appears he moved back to Ohio several years before his death. Any information about the family would be appreciated. Thanks!

I descended from James Francis Marion Crelia's son Alvin J Crelia's son Willie Marion 'Bill' Crelia (my Grandfather) and Roxie Jewel (Sellers) Crelia (living) my grandmother's son Paul Justus Crelia(living) is my dad. My father had 2 brothers Alvin (Al) Curtis Crelia(dead), Billy Duane Crelia(dead), and 4 sisters Mamie Sue 'Suzie' Crelia (dead), Allie Marie 'Ree Ree' Crelia (living), Patricia 'Pat' (Crelia) Stuckey (living), and Thadene 'Deene' (crelia) Hall (living). If you are interested in Bill Crelia's grandchildren let me know I have all the names and great grandchildren and great-great grandchildren.
I was wondering if you know why they changed the name from Creeley to Crelia and what nationality they were originally. I am trying to find out where we came from. There is not any information in my family further back than 'Bill' Crelia's father all the rest I have pieced of the internet. Thank you any info you have I would love to read.
-Hannah (crelia) tumlison
