Samuel married Alice Mercer dughter of Joseph Mercer
Samuel went to Bradley County TN where he got a land grant in 1852 for the War of 1812 and is supposed to be buried in the Heneger Cemetery (no stone located). From a deed from Joseph Mercer's heirs we know Joseph Mercer's land adjoined the McCracken's.
John with Margaret's will named 4 grandsons:
William K., son of John
John, son of Henry
John, son of Robert
John son of Samuel
Our John we believe was the son of Samuel and Alice.
Our John married in Washington County TN in 1835 to Dicey Oliver (we have this original marriage license in my aunt's possession). They moved to Monroe County TN. John died in the Civil War and is buried in the National Cemetery in Nashville.
We believe one of his sisters was Martha Gilbreath.
John and Dicey's son Samuel (b. 1841) moved with his family by way of Missouri to Pontotoc Co. OK where he is buried at Lightning Ridge Cemetery near Roff OK.
We have much McCracken material gathered to sort all this out.
