I am VERY interested in this as well. Also, who were Nancy Ann Henderson's parents?
Jacob Brown's oldest son, Jacob, is documented as having served in Revolution with his father and his cousin Gabriel, so the family was not totally estranged...
1) An interesting read on this topic with cited source by Phil Norfleet: http://sc_tories.tripod.com/jacob_brown.htm
2) from researcher John Nash:
James Henderson died in 1793 and left a wil favoring John A Brown, son of Jacob Brown and Nancy Henderson. Nancy was indentured to Jacob 9 Oct 1781 when Jacob was living separate from his wife. It seems that John A Brown was their child. Jacob left his son some property, to be received only when Nancy died, but Ruth Gordon Brown took it to court and got the property by right of dowry.
I am attempting to clarify this whole thing, cause it looks like my James was Nancy's father. James will referred to the boy as "my beloved son John A Brown".
That is all I have found...
