I live in Peavy Switch, Angelina Co and actually the railroad had a switch car that was across from the old Peavy Home. One of my uncles lived in that old house and I stayed with them one night and it was scary. The old house was built with what some called a "dog trot", which means the house has rooms on both side but the ends were left open. Later some closed them in.
My mom's Glass family had a Luther Glass and he married a Clara Peavy (1872 AL) and he did work for the saw mill in Diboll. He was riding a big old white horse while overseeing a work crew when a black man pulled him off and killed him. There were no children.
