MORTUARY abt 1918
J. H. Elliott

J. H. Elliott died at his home five miles west of Temple yesterday at 7 p. m. Burial will be at Pendleton this afternoon at 4 o'clock, with funeral services conducted by Rev. John Palmer. The pallbearers will be R. T. Cartwright, E. J. Ogle, H. R. Scott , J. A. Gilley and C. R. Moore

Deceased was born in Rutherford County, Tenn. in 1845. He came to Texas in 1885 and had made his home near Temple ever since. He is survived by his wife and one son, Frank Elliott. Brothers and sisters surviving him are: Tom Elliott, Temple; J. W. Elliott, Beech Grove, Tenn.; Mrs Mary Lemons, Temple; Mrs. Dent Duncan; The Grove; Mrs. E. G. Earp, Temple. He was a member of the Masonic lodge and the Methodist church.

Mrs Sallie Elliott

Mrs. Sallie Elliott, age 79 years, died Friday morning at 6 o'clock at the home of her son, F. G. Elliott. of Old Howard , after an illness of several months.

Mrs. Elliott is well known here, having lived in this section for 40 years. She became a Christian at an early age, joining the Methodist church at Elder Creek. She was united in marriage to J. H. Elliott in 1870 and to this union six children were born. Her husband and six children preceded her to the grave. Mrs. Elliott was loved by everyone who knew her and she leaves many friends to morn her death,

She is survived by one son F. G. Elliott, with whom she lived, and four brothers, Bud Crocker of Crenter, Tex., S. L. Crocker of Crescent, Tex.; and Pole Crocker of Waco.; one niece, Bruce Nichols of Temple, and eight grandchildren, Mrs. Alfred Evans of Shields, Tex. ; Miss Madge McCollough of Temple, Paul Gaither of Pendleton; Calvin, Frank, Charlie, Homer and Oland Elliott of Old Howard: one great-granddaughter, little Doris Fern Evans of Sheilds, Texas.

Funeral services will be held at the Pendleton cemetery at 10:30 a. m. Saturday, conducted by the Rev. Nobles, pastor of the Methodist church at Cedar Creek, assisted by Rev. Woods of Dallas. Internment will be in the Pendleton Cemetery. Active pall-bearers will be E. J. Alford, T. J. Ogle, R. V. Nichols, Walter Smith, R. Curlee (Note: Blurred?) and C. R. Moore.

These Elliotts are sometimes thought to be the single T Elliots.
At least my GG-grandfather Thom (Thomas J. Elliot) and is mentioned as a brother went by a single ending.

Notice also that there are only three Crocker brothers listed but four are mentioned.
