I found the following article in the Baylor County Banner issue dated March 13, 1908 and thought that it might be of interest to someone on this list. More articles from the Banner are on my site at

Bell County Men - Sometime ago several deals were made in real estate near Bomarton that have never been fully reported.  The purchasers were Bell county men and the vendor was K. H. Worley.  The deal included 320 acres of Mr. Worley’s fine land south of town:  120 acres to Simon Barton, of Temple, and 200 acres to John Coufal, of Oenaville.  In the party was also Frank Motl, who bought last year 320 acres from Fancher Bros. In the Mary’s creek pasture.  On this trip he bought eight lots in Bomarton, just north of  Chas. Merendas’ blacksmith shop.   Frank Sodek completed the party.  He bought no land this time, but came to see about 100 acres he bought last summer from Martin Marak.  And these men, with the possible exception of Frank Motl, will probable locate here in the next year or two.
