Dolly was born Feb. 8, 1931, in Vreeswijk, Holland. She was the daughter of Johannes Wilhelmus Hendrikus LEENDERS and Henrica Anna SMORENBURG. She married Walter Albert TILLEMAN, Jan. 6, 1953, in Arnhem, Holland.

Dolly was a naturalized citizen of the United States. She and her husband also lived in Baltimore, Maryland; Beatty, Nevada; El Paso, Texas; Morocco; and Germany before settling in the San Antonio, Texas, area in the 1960s.

Dolly held a special connection to the movie “A Bridge Too Far,” telling her family that her father was a barge captain on the Rhine River and they lived by the Arnhem Bridge when the battle was taking place.

Dolly passed away Sept. 2, 2013, in San Antonio, Texas.
