Does anyone know if there was a mental hospital or sanitarium in the San Antonio area in the 1920's? I know that my grandmother died of TB in 1928 and know that she was hospitalized off and on between 1923 and 1928. Death certificate indicates cause of death was TB but there are sources in the family who suggest she might have had a mental illness. So we are wondering if she was in the hospital for the TB or was in the hospital for the mental illness and contracted the TB while in the hospital. My father who was only 8 at the time of his mother's death says that he does remember that the hospital was "down around by San Antonio". If there was such a hospital, does anyone have any ideas of how to possibly get records or even if they would exist after such a long time?

Thank you!
