i need an obituary on george thomas luckett born jackson,mississippi and died texarana texas married willie maude dykes and had two sons james howard luckett and bille george luckett.

I am not related to your family. Where did the information come from that George Thomas Luckett was born in Jackson MS come from ? Death certificate of James Howard Luckett ?

The reason I ask is that I have found information from George Thomas Luckett's W W I Draft registration card indicating he was born in Canton, MS which is in Madison county. He provided this information himself and I will send you the copy of the card as attachment. Jackson is not in that county and information on death certificates not always accurate.

If he is the correct George Thomas Luckett he was born 1892 in Canton, Madison Co, MS per his W W I Draft registration and was in Bowie county TX in the 1910 & 1920 census. The 1900 census says he was born Nov 1889 son of Benjamin Luckett and "Sallie" C Cauthen and was in Louisiana at the time of the 1900 census record.

His headstone says he was born 1891, died 1951 in Bowie county, buried Eylau Cemetery in Bowie county.

I could not find him in the 1930 record. Willie M Dykes was in Angelina county where son Billie George was born in 1932 so I'm guessing they married in Angelina county about 1931.

George Thomas Sr was previously married to Thaddie Richardson. She died in Bowie county in 1959 and did not remarry. George and Thaddie had George Jr abt 1922/23.

Thaddie and George Jr were living with her widowed mother in the 1930 census in Bowie county and was listed as being married. George Thomas Jr did not have any children in Texas, I think he possibly died in Louisiana in 1966 but does not tell in which county. Billie or Bill Luckett died in Oklahoma little over five years ago.
