Surnames: George
Sand Fly was in Burleson County during the 1860 Census and had a post office from 1861 to 1869 in Burleson County. When Lee County was created in 1874, that portion of Burleson County where Sand Fly was located reverted to Bastrop County. Sand Fly, Bastrop County, Texas, had a post office from Nov. 1869 to March 1871 when the name was changed to Pontotoc and it had a post office until September 1876. Sand Fly was located north of Texas Hwy. 21 and east of Paige, Texas, in Bastrop County. There are cemeteries in the area and a George Cemetery in Elgin, Bastrop County, Texas.

Here's a link to the area on Google maps:

There are two Georges listed here:

You can view all internments currently listed for the cemetery on Find a Grave here:

Note: Just because they're not listed on the above link doesn't necessarily mean they're not buried there because these listings aren't always inclusive.

This paper has been around since 1890. Perhaps they have an archive of obituaries one might access:

Here's a listing on all Bastop County cemeteries:

Here's an .xls spreadsheet listing all Burleson County cemeteries courtesy of Burleson County Historical Commission: http://www.co.burleson.tx.us/index.php?page_name=Historical+...

Good luck, and happy hunting.

I'm not related to this family.
