Obit for Leslie E Burke
I am not related I just found this in the paper:
BAIRD STAR, Saturday, March 7, 1896
Mr. Leslie E Burke died at his family residence in this city last Wednesday of consumption, and was buried Thursday afternoon at the new cemetery. He had been suffering a long time with the dread and fatal disease, but his recent illness dates back a few weeks. Mr. Burke was an exemplary Christian gentleman and a member of the Presbyterian church and was a talented young business man. The sincere sympathy of numerous warm friends of himself and family go out to the wife who survived him and to his other relatives Dublin Leader
Mr. Burke married at this place and his numerous friends here regret to learn of his death and their hearts go out in sympathy to the bereaved widow and fatherless babe. Sweetwater Review
Leslie Burk was the first printer we hired to work on THE STAR when it was founded in 1887. He was an exemplary young man and had many friends in Baird who will regret to learn of his death. Peace to his ashes.
