You may get better responses in Leon County. That's where the family settled early in Texas and also where her parents are buried. Her parents were William W. Bain (10 Jul 1842 - 26 Feb 1891) and Mary Ann (nee: Long) (15 May 1847 - 24 Dec 1916). Some family trees have a different maiden name for her mom but I question their sources. Online death certificates: Rubin Nelson Bain (25 Feb 1874 - 15 Jan 1951) and Willie Ann Johnson (16 Dec 1875 - 28 Apr 1944) identifies their mom as Mary Ann Long. Both were siblings of Pinkie L. (nee: Bain) Vann (29 Jun 1879 - 14 Jun 1953). Rubin was the informant on Willie Ann's death certificate and I'll accept his declaration of their mother's maiden name! FYI, Pinkie identified as a male, Pinkney, on the family's 1880 Leon-Not Stated-086-Image 31 census. W. F. (actually William Thomas) Vann wed Pinkey Bain 22 Nov 1896 in Leon County. I'm not related or acquainted with anyone descended from this family.
