Services for George Calkins Held Here
George Calkins, 69, died Saturday, February 18, 1995.
Rosary was held Monday, February 20, at St. Theresa Catholic Church. Funeral services were Tuesday, Feb. 21, at the church with burial in St. Mary's Cemetery in Groom by Minton-Chatwell Funeral Directors.
Mr. Calkins was a veteran of World War II. He married Betty Kirk in 1980 at Clovis, New Mexico.
Survivors include his wife; four sons, Ronnie Calkins of Walters, Ok, Johnny Calkins of Amarillo, Larry Calkins of Bakersfield, CA., and Kerry Calkins of Wills Point; a stepson, Terry Kirk of Craig, Co; two stepdaughters, Cindy Robbins of Gunnison, Co., and Brenda Kirk of Panhandle; one sister; four half brothers; two half sisters; 18 grandchildren and five great-grandchildren.
The family requests memorials be made to Crown of Texas Hospice in Amarillo.
