I'm researching info on two individuals who lived in Jefferson, TX during the mid to late 1800's. I believe David Boyle discovered ammonia compression refrigeration with the help of his friend Henry (H.R.) Scott. I need any info available on either of these men (i.e.: birth cert, death cert, land owned, marriage records, etc.) Especially, land records. I do know when Mr. Boyle's ice machine burned in 1874, he moved to Illinois.
I'm trying to prove to the state that I own the house where Mr. Boyle invented making ice. I'm looking to have an Historical Marker erected.
Thank you for any help provided.
