Like you, I was not able to find the John Hodge family in the 1900 record. I find a Green Hodge who appears to be brother of John and Isom from KY and Jane from MO who appear to be the parents of John Hodge in Justice Precinct 1, Cass Co, in the 1900 record.

I used just first names and appx birth years and still no result in Cass county nor any county. This method sometimes works when people seem to have difficulty in reading last names for transcription. They just are not listed but most likely in Pct 1 in 1900.

One daughter married a Davis appx 1904 had 2 sons. The 1900 Pct 1 census shows 14 male Davis' in Pct 1 with 6 of these being born 1881 to 1891.
