im looking for my birth dad and if you know him or think you can tell me where he is please write to me at the address above. i was born june 26 1963 and my mothers name was maria eloise chairez. my fathers name is antonio castro and he might be married again. im really mad that no one wants to help me find him or tell me that he might be dead but if he is all i want to tell him that i love him very much and i do have pictures of him and my baby bother percy and i have one of me and my brother percy on my grandmothers bed.thanks alot antoinette castro 40 years old

I have some information on the Huseman line in Castro Co., Texas. Mamie Bourell, sister to Timothy Joseph Bourell (1896)(my grandfather) is my grand aunt. Fieldton school

I have a copy of a souvenir program given to my aunt, Minnie Gore, dated May 31, 1935, school Fieldton, 7th grade, teacher F. R. Curtis. My Google search tells me this is in Castro County.

One page is signed by her classmates: Durwood BIGGERSTAFF, Norene FINNEY, Dawson MULLN (not sure on this one), Morice HENDERSON, Sabra ROGERS, Leora CHANEY, Leota CHANEY, J. B. RICHARDSON, Leon COWEN, LaVerne DEMINT, Glen GOYINE, Barney JOHNSON, Leona LANE, Dewey CANAL, Virginia HOOD, Lou E. LAMBERT, and Jack TAYLOR. It looks like my aunt wrote all of the names herself.

I wasn't aware my family was in this county at this time period, so am posting this in hope it might help someone else. I would be happy to scan and send anyone who might be interested.

I was raised in Zavala County (next door to Dimmit County, approx. 11 miles away). My maiden name is Loera. I think my family originally settled there in the 1940's but there roots where from San Luis, Potosi, Mexico. I checked our family tree but the names Victoria nor Gertrudis do not appear. There was another Loera family that lived in Crystal City, TX but I was told we were not related to them. Check the census records for that time line in Zavala county. It may yield some information on the other family that lived there. Hope this helps.

May I send you the death certificate via email attachment, to the address you have posted in your first message? It would be better if you could actually see it for yourself , rather than have me transcribe it. Death certificates are vital to actually document genealogy history, and they contain a wealth of information. If you cannot view or open attachments, I'd be happy to print you off a copy and mail it to you if you'll send me a SASE..... but it's your choice, if all you're interested in is parents named, they are shown as: Charles Jackson Godfrey and Mary Hudson.

I finally obtained the obit, but no parents were mentioned--Lubbock Avalanche, Lubbock, TX, 27 Jul 1972:
Hart Man Dies After Collision
HART (Special)-- Services are pending for Carl Godfrey, 63, of Hart, who died in a Dimmitt hospital at 6:15 p.m. Wednesday from injuries he suffered in a traffic accident earlier in the day.
Lemons Funeral Home of Plainview is in charge of arrangements.
A truck tractor driven by Thomas Marion Waller, 27, of Hale Center, collided about 11 a.m. with the car Godfrey was driving, the Department of Public Safety said.
The accident was approximately one mile west of Hart on Texas 194.
Godfrey, a farmer, had been in the intensive care unit and had been in a coma until his death, a hospital spokesman said.

Initially from censuses I had his parents as Charley & Mary Godfrey. I had found his sister Blanche Godfrey Nesteby's 2004 obit, stating her parents were Ernest & Mary (Hudson) Godfrey. Here is her obit: Amarillo Globe-News, Dec. 22, 2004:
CANYON - Blanche Nesteby, 80, died Monday, Dec. 20, 2004, in Amarillo.
Services will be at 10 a.m. Thursday in Brooks Funeral Directors Chapel in Canyon. Burial will be in Memory Gardens Cemetery.
Mrs. Nesteby was born on Nov. 25, 1924 in Roosevelt, Okla., to Ernest and Mary Hudson Godfrey. She graduated from Roosevelt High School. She married Ernest Nesteby at Fort Sill, Okla., in 1955. She was a member of the University Church of Christ.
She was preceded in death by a son, Charles E. Shores, in 2002, a sister, Alice Moore and a brother, Carl Godfrey.
Survivors include her husband; two daughters, Shirley Ann Blakley of Canyon and Linda Bennett of Oklahoma City; a son, Gary Nesteby of Bruceville; two sisters, Flossie Trotter of Bolder, Colo., and Sally Smith of Joplin, Mo.; seven grandchildren; and two great-grandchildren.
The family suggests memorials be to Big Brothers/Big Sisters.

The match is there, & the father must be Charles Ernest Godfrey, b.Aug 1884 GA. The mother, Mary F. Hudson, b.Abt 1887 GA.

Is there an easy way to just confirm the names on the death certificates?

Cecelia Huseman's father, John Henry Huseman, is a brother to my grandfather, Bernard Herman Huseman. She and I share the same great grandfather, so that makes her my first cousin once removed (according to my FTM).

My great great grandfather's name was Henry Huseman. He was married to Catherine. They had a son named Joseph Huseman born 1875, I think. He married Theresa Spannan and they had 5 children Andrew B. 1910, Lawrence B. 1901, Irene don't know birth date, Marie B.1915, and Wilbur B.1918 and Irene and Wilbur are the only 2 still alive. My mother's maiden name is Huseman and I am reserching it for my family tree. Please sne dme info if this is who you are talking about.
