What a surprise! I was just telling my niece that I would give all my information when I get ready to move next year. I was telling her that she needed to try and reconnect with the Miller-Harris in California and collect stories she hears.
You probably already found this, but I believe Elizabeth Damke came over at age of 17 as a servant on the Barque Franziska Dec 31 1847. From unknown port to Galveston.
I also found Johan Miller age 19 came over on the Bark Franziska Dec 6 1849. From Breman Germany to Galveston. Same ship different years.
My Aunt told me she heard they met and married aboard ship and came in from Ellis Island. Stubborn lady. I could not convince her differently even though I found the marriage license somewhere in TX.
I never went farther. Developed an interest in quilting. It cost to much to drive into the City and park.
