I'm interested in researching more about the slaves in this Pearsall branch. Here is what is interesting as far as the black Pearsalls I'm researching (Stephen, Jane, Julia Ann, Mary Francis, John Knedium)
1. John Pearsall brought 6 slaves from NC to TN. - Julia Pearsall was born in TN.
2. Elizabeth James-Pearsall of Fayette, TN ordered Bejamin S. Tatum to sell her Negro woman Julia - Julia Pearsall was born in TN.
3. John and JE Pearsall were born and lived in NC. Stephen and Jane Pearsall were born in NC around the same time as JE Pearsall.
4. JE Pearsall owned 600 acres in Colorado County in 1855. Stephen Pearsall registered to vote as a resident of Colorado County in 1867 and stated he was in the state since around 1854.

It may be a coincidence but maybe not. Do you have any suggestions on how to go about researching the fate of those 42 slaves he paid taxes on in 1860 ?
