I'm looking for my wife's family's Riddle ancestors around Comanche County. Here's what we know (or believe):
A Lorenzo Dow Riddle was a teacher on the Comanche Reservation in the late 1800s. His second son, Henry Hampton (Knox) Riddle, was born October 10, 1893, in Gorman. Lorenzo Dow Riddle was 56 and from Kentucky or Tennessee while the mother, Florence Allen Huff, was 19 and from Arkansas. Florence is said to be part Indian. They had 8 children altogether. Some, if not all, of the family left for California after 1910. Since Lorenzo Dow Riddle was an older man, 76 in 1910, we think he might be buried around Comanche County. At least one son, Frank Wilton Riddle, was born there around 1908.
Thanks, John Weiser (with Cathie Riddle Weiser)
