By 1920, Homer was living with his siblings with Uncle Thomas. H.F. Holloway and Cynthia (Synthia) Blackman had two children in Concho, one in 1930 and the other in 1933. I would appreciate any information on any of these famiies.

Malona (Hall) Wilson, born 12/1826, daughter of Berry(i)man Hall, Born 11/24/1808, wife of James T Wilson, born 1824

Malona (Hall) and James T Wilson were appointed guardians of my great grandmother Rutha Smith by the Lavaca County Court of Estates. Malona and Rutha are listed as heirs in the will of "John Smith and wife, Deceased of MS".
Malona and Rutha are listed on the 1870 Lavaca County census living next to each other and both from Tennessee. These facts lead me to believe Rutha is related to Malona.
Rutha(smith) and Elijah Thomas Wilson are living next to Malona on land probably willed to them by James T Wilson, Malonas' s husband, who died earlier in 1870.
Rutha was born 4/30/1849 in TN and died 1898 in Beckham County, OK. Elijah was born 2/3/1839 in Noxubee, MS and died 2/17/1917 in Runnels County, Tx
Elijah was a CSA survivor. He mustered into the 6th Texas Infantry Regiment with his brother James W Wilson. Elijah was disabled at the Battle of New Hope Church in norhtern GA on 5/25/1864 and sent home to recuperate.
Based on dates on Elijah's CSA pension application and the 1900 census, Elijah and Rutha were married in 1868-9. Elijah was still disenfranchised and not a citizen of the US at that time and may have been unable to record civil procedures.
Elijah is the son of William W Wilson, born 11/15/1819in AL, died 7/11/1905 and Mary Thomas, born 8/14/1821, died 12/3/1893. They are both buried at Salem Baptist Church cemetery in Ezzell, Lavaca County, TX
I would appreciate many help in expanding my info on the Hall and Wilson families. I would really appreciate any help on finding a marriage date and place.

Dear Faye,
Thank you for the info. I have been told all these yrs. that they were in Schleicher County. I had a feeling they were close by. I went to Schleicher County Courthouse and did not recieve much help. Noone knew where records were and didn't want to let me see anything. I went through the cemetery and then to the library, but ran out of time. I will make a trip to Concho County, as I just started in Angelo State University. Do you know what town they were located at? Is there only one cemetery there? The story I was told was that John L. Moss, from Mississippi, fell out of a pecan tree and punctured a lung and suffered in the bed for about a week until he passed on. I am wondering if it was around 1883, if he was buried on the land or in a cemetery. Thanks for all your help and this will be a good second start on Joseph and John Moss. Thanks again
Mae

STEPHENS b. 1893 Little River Co. , AR. & Birdie L. EASTERWOOD 1899 , Texas , with their first child & dau. , Johnnie .Also on the same page is listed a Lambert DAVIS 59 born MO. He has a child listed , Allison , a son , age 14/19 b. AR. My grandparents also named a 4th child , a son , Allison . I am trying to find out the grandparents of Enoch J. STEPHENS . His mother was born i AR. It is his father , Enoch A. STEPHENS whom I am trying to locate . On census page 172 a is listed ,Bradolia G. STEPHENS age 35 b. AR. with wife Allie and 2 daughters .I think Enoch A. STEPHENS or his parents imigrated from MO. > AR.> TX. but lack proof .Enoch J. STEPHENS , mother md. later to Thomas B. HAMILTON in OK. and they then came to Texas. If anyone can help with this family as he has been a brick wall , it would be appreciated .

I am searching for my great grandfather and great grandmother Andrew Jackson and Rebecca Jane (Knatcher) Mayes. The 1910 census had them listed in Concho County, Texas. A. J. was then 65 and Jane was 59. At the time a dau-in-law was residing with them, Frances and her son Charlie age 5. Listed under trade of profession was 'freighter'. Seven children were born of this union. One was my grandfather Robert M. Mayes.
Any information would help with my family tree. Thanking you in advance
S. Sinclair
The 1903-1940 death list did not list either A. J. or Jane
so I'm curious as to whether they left the state after 1910.
I am searching for any information on my great-grandparents in Concho County, Texas. I have been told that there is a book, Runnels County Pioneers, which lists Confederate veterans. It gave Dannelley, S.G. (Swain G.) Pvt, Co A 28th TN Inf. buried in Paint Rock Cemetery, at Eden in Concho Co., TX. In another book, In Remembrance, published by the Runnels Co. Historical Commission, was found my great-grandmother, Dannelley, Joe Ann wife of S.G. b 2 Dec 1852 d 7 Aug 1913. I had found them on the 1880 Coleman County, Texas, census. I also knew that my grandfather had lived in Runnels County in 1900 and 1910 from the census' for Runnels County. I would like to know if there is any information on this family in Concho County. I would also like to know if there is a headstone on his grave in Paint Rock Cemetery in Eden, what the inscription is if it exists, what his dates of birth and death are, and if there are any records in existence that prove he was a private in the Confederate Army in Co. A, 28th Tennessee Infantry.

Thank you,

Sandra

I have a photo of two young boys, probably 7 & 12. The photo was taken in Muenster, Tx by John K. Bell, photo artist. One of my cousins Albina Cabron who married several times was married to D.E. Dryer during 1920's. A 1920 census report lists them living in Concho Co., Tx - perhaps they traveled afar or lived in the area at one time.

Mrs. Frances J. Rudder, wife of Alexander Perry Rudder, died in the home of her daughter, Mrs. M. Brown in 1927. Members of this family lived in Concho, Mason, and McCulloch Counties. Does anyone know the first name of Mrs. M. Brown? I know that Alexander and Frances Rudder had daughters named Mary, Martha, and Miriam. There is some evidence that they may have had another daughter whose first name started with an "M". I have seen the name written on a pension application but it doesn't look like any of the above names. It looks like it begins with an "M" and ends with an "il", something like M---il.

My great-grandfather, Richard MONTGOMERY, lived in the Paint Rock area in the late 1880's. Family lore is that he drove a freight wagon between San Angelo and Paint Rock. His oldest son, Arthur Alphonza, age 9, died in 1887 while living there, and apparently several other children became ill, because Richard moved his family back to Columbia Co, AR, saying he was afraid if he stayed in Concho Co. he would lose all his children to the "fever." Does anyone know of an epidemic of some kind in the area in the late 1880's, or where Arthur Alphonza Montgomery may have been buried?
