Classification: Lookup
Surnames: SLAUGHTER, ELLIS
A little girl called Ada Slaughter died in about 1883-84 in Cooke County TX. She was about 10 or 11 yrs old. Her name could have been Adaline. Either her first name or middle name. She was orphaned by 7/ 1880 when both her parents died. This little girl, Ada Slaughter, died after she caught her dress on fire as she was warming herself by the fire place. I am desperately seeking any info on her. She was the daughter of Minerva Jane ELLIS Slaughter. Her mother died shortly after giving birth to Ada's little brother, John William Slaughter in May of 1880 in Bridgeport P.O., Jackson County AL. Ada had other siblings, David L., Richard Shelby, and Charles F., all younger than Ada. All of the orphaned children were taken from AL to Cooke County TX in 1880 after they lost their mother. If anyone can help me locate info or a gravesite I will be grateful.
P.S.
The spelling of Slaughter could have been spelled a different way by someone who may have reported the death or inscribing on the tombstone, if any, or any other info, so please look for any variations that you may think would fit.
