Coryell County Help Please!

I am a descendant of Allen and Obediance Harris Carrigan of Coryell County (the Bee House area). Next week I will be traveling through the area, and would like to visit Bee House and the cemetery there.

Although the gravesites of Allen and Obediance are apparently unknown, since they lived only 4 miles southwest of Bee House, I am assuming they may be buried in the cemetery there. Allen died in 1881, and Obediance in 1901. There are other Carrigan graves in the Bee House cemetery.

My questions are 1)does anyone know anything about a church in Bee House in the 1881 time frame that might have records of Allen's death and burial location? Perhaps the church is still in existence, or if not, perhaps it's records were moved elsewhere?

2) Does anyone know where the original Carrigan property might be? According to the book "Coryell County Families": "...Allen Carrigan and Obediance Carrigan traveled in a covered wagon from Maury County, Tennessee in 1850 to the southwestern part of Coryell County, four miles southwest of Bee House. They pre-empted 160 acres of land. There they built a large log cabin near an ever-flowing spring located on a mountainside.

The Indians were a threat at all times. The children were taught mostly at home. Most travel was done in wagons or on horse back. There was no church near enough to attend. Several families met in their homes weekly for scripture reading, songs, and prayer."

I would very much like to see the place referred to in the book, the 160 acres near the "ever-flowing spring located on a mountainside".

I hope someone out there is sufficiently acquainted with the county's history and geography to help me find these locations and records.

Thank you for your help!
