Jesse Lee Stephenson was born in Gough,Texas,Delta County,to Samuel Stephenson and Betty Elizabeth Smith who married in Glory,Texas,Lamar County in 1887. Samuel Stephenson was the son of George Alexander Stephenson and Eliabeth Perry. Betty Elizabeth Smith was the daughter of James and Mary Davidson Smith of Klondike.
Jesse Lee Stephenson served with the 62nd Engineers in France during World War I.
