The Ritter Cemetery, located on Corps of Engineeers property below the Lewisville Lake dam, will commemorate the 150th anniversary of the first marked burial at its annual Decoration Day on April 25, 2010, from noon until 3 p.m.

Entrance to the cemetery is via the COE entrance at Jones & Kealey Streets in Lewisville.

Many of those buried at Ritter were the earliest Peters Colony settlers, coming to Texas in the 1840s. A book of stories about the area and those buried at the cemetery will be released and sold at the cemetry on April 25.

The Ritter Cemetery Association and th Friends of Ritter Cemetery invite relatives and those interested to join us for Decoration Day on April 25.
