I'm a Bennett and just found out through a Civil War pension request that one of my relatives, James Monroe Bennett was married in Guadalupe County to a Cherry Stanfield in approximately June 30, 1868. On the pension application dated Dec 1, 1913 she had to have witnesses sign an affidavit stating that her story was true concerning her marriage to James and his service in the Terry Rangers, Co. ?, 8th TX Regiment. The witnesses were H. (Herman) Weinert and Annie D. Weinert. Annie's maiden name was Bennett, a direct descendant of mine. Also, Sarah F. Stanfield married S.H. Bennett Jan 13, 1870. I also believe that S.H. is one of my relative as well. I just don't know what the initials stand for - how can you help me???

Any info would be greatly appreciated,
Shannon Stover-Bennett
