Duval Co deputy sheriff Archie McNeill, d. 2 July 1900
I am a volunteer researcher for the Texas Peace Officers Memorial Duval County deputy sheriff Archie McNEILL was reported to have been fatally wounded on 2 July 1900. Any family information, place of burial, did he die from wound, or disposition of any criminal case will be appreciated.

" San Diego, Duval Co. Tex., July 3, ---While attempting to disarm a man in a saloon here last night Deputy SHERIFF Archie McNEILL was shot and it is thought was fatally wounded. Luther Gillett was also slightly wounded. Gillett was placed in jail."
