John D. Wood b. 1826 in Tenn. was my great, great grandfather. He died in 1889 in Taos, NM, and sometime after that (around 1900 I think) his son, John H. Wood moved his family (including my grandmother Ginevra) to New Mexico (Tularosa, Alamogordo, La Luz area), where there is quite a clan of us to this day.
My grandmother talked of her girlhood home in Edwards County, TX and of Rock Springs. I wonder if Camp Wood is named after the family?
