Jewel Petty and Loursey Swallows were married in Overton, Tenn. in 1944. Losure A. Swallows b. 1 November 1923 in Tn. d. 28 December 2005. in Polk, Florida. He is buried at Church of Christ Cemetery, in Eagle Lake, Polk Co. Fl.
Jewell Swallows b. 24 April 1928 in Tn. d. 24 September 2007, in Polk, Fl. You can find them on findagrave.com.
In order to look for NA heritage you will need to have your genealogy done back to at least the 1850s, to establish where they were living. The census records will tell you race listed also.
Jewel Petty was listed with her parents on the 1930 and 1940 census, living in Tn. as was Losure A Swallows. There are also several trees done on this family at Ancestry

You may have some trouble with parents of Jewel Petty, as her mother is listed as Belle, on most records I found.

VERNA LEE SHERRILL
Funeral services for Verna Lee Sherrill, 90, of Crab Orchard, who passed away June 5 in Standing Stone Nursing Home in Monterey, were held from the chapel of Crossville Memorial Funeral Home, with burial in Battown Cemetery, Crab Orchard.
She was born April 14, 1907, in Jackson County, Tenn., the daughter of Nancy Belle Lewis and Jess Petty. Mrs. Sherrill was an assembly line worker for the Chrysler Corp. and a member of the Church of God in Crab Orchard.
Survivors include her husband, Raymond Sherrill of Crab Orchard; brothers Bill Petty and Marvin Petty, both of Crossville; and sisters Maude, Jewell and Ruby, all of Crossville.
She was preceded in death by her father, Jess Petty; mother, Nancy Lewis; husband, Claude Bastin; brothers Lawrence, James, Jessie and Buford; and sisters Maggie, Ethel and Betty.
Pallbearers were Donald Swallows, Dale Swallows, Heath Swallows, Greg Swallows, Freeman Swallows and Dewayne Swallows.
The Rev. Don Widner officiated.
Crossville Memorial Funeral Home was in charge of the arrangements.
