I am trying to verify that a Geo. W. Williams family that shows up in the 1880 Freestone County census is the same as a G.W. Williams family that shows up in the 1870 Leon County Census. There are some differences between the two but not enough to keep them from being the same, just enough to throw some doubt on it. The Leon county family is clearly my gggrandparents and I know enough about them to know that their names are George Washington and Nancy Adeline Williams and that they (or at least she) had a son named Walter. In the 1870 Leon County census, two children, age 3 and 1 respectively, are named Thomas Tyson and Walter Tyson and the wife is named Adeline. In the 1880 Freestone County census there is no Thomas but there is a 10 year old William W. and two younger daughters and the wife is named Nancy A. Also the ages of the father and mother are different, 24 and 23 in 1870 and 32 and 30 in 1880. However, the birth states for the father and mother are the same in both censuses, Louisana and Mississippi. Also, no such family appears in the 1870 census in Freestone County or in 1880 in Leon County. Can anyone help me verify or disprove that these are the same families.
