I am searching for my gggreat grandfather, Mr. Johnson. I do not know his first name, but I know that he moved to Freestone County sometime between 1850 and 1870 from Georgia. He was married before he moved and had eight children with his first wife. She died and left him with the children. Later, while he was still in Georgia, he met and married my gggreat grandmother, Mary Nina O'Guerney. She was the daughter of Irish immigrants who came to Boston, Mass. in the early 1800's. She was born in Boston on 10 Jan 1830. She was teaching piano at a ladies finishing school in Georgia when she met her husband.
They married and moved to Freeston County, later having eight children of their own. Her husband later died and she remarried a man named Dr. McCustion who was a dentist. She also moved at some point to Iredell, Bosque County, Texas to be near one of her sons, Telephus Albartus Johnson. This is where she died, 2 April, 1889.
I am looking for the name of her first husband, Mr. Johnson, and also where he came from in Georgia. I do know that they bought a plantation when they settled in Freestone County (around Buffalo, Lonely, Dew, or Fairfield) and they moved before the Civil War because they brought their slaves with them. If anyone has any information on these people, I would love to receive it. I am willing to exchange any information I have as well. Thank you!
