Thank you for the input and Redbird makes much sense and fits nicely into the profile of Edgar Pitts where his grandfather Pinkney lived and died.

Best regards and yes I usually add birthdates, death dates, places of birth if possible along with parentage if known as well as domicile.

Thanks for the update Amanda Pitts was sister to Rufus Morgan Pitts so Edgar would have been his grand-nephew and wagoner county Oklahoma would make sense for domicile.

When you post, it is helpful when you post th date of birth of those you seek. In your case, you have a great family tree, posting the link to those you seek helps prevent a lot of unneeded questions, receiving information you already have and help see what you do not.

The Social Security Death Index:
Edgar Pitts, born 31 May 1914, died Feb 1989, "last residence:" Redbird, Wagoner County, OK. The "last residence" on the SSDI is NOT NECESSARILY where a person actually lived...OR died.

Since the "Edgar Pitts" found by the other person is definitely NOT correct, this is one reason to post your link. Posted family trees are so easy to find, but many don't look.

Is this the correct family? If not, when and where was Edgar born? Even a guesstimate is better than nothing.

Thank you so much and yes these are my family members I have the 1870, 1880 and 1900 on them and only the 1910 on Rufus Pitts no other census records were discovered on my end about Rufus nor Mandy his sibling. I appreciate the assistance!

Their neighbors were Rufus, Risa and children Pitts.

I can look up more information if this is the correct family.

Searching for records from Stark & Son Undertakers in 1918.
My Grandfather's sister Myrtle Roach died in 1918 & her death cert. lists Stark & Son as undertakers in Seminole. Searching for her burial place as it is not listed on her death cert. Her name was Myrtle Roach & she was 19 years old.

Information regarding the Pitts family who may be related to the Swan family of Ardmore being Margurite Pitts and Lewis Swan are encouraged to contact me. Those with information would be most appreciated including information about Amanda Pitts Wells, her daughters were Susie and Bulah died in Oklahoma. Also seeking Native American heritage among the Pitts family. These people were called Mulatto and Quadroon. There have been reports of some Pitts enrolled into Native American tribes but which one isn't known at this time.

In regards to Pinkney Pitts son of Barney & Martha and brother to Rufus Morgan Pitts. I'm currently interested in the family of John E. Pitts of Texas and Oklahoma, his son Edgar who died in 1989 and Edgar's descendants. I've had the opportunity to meet my cousin Mattie Wells Byars who was the daughter of Pink and Mary Wells. I'm aware that Pink Pitts fathered children by at least three different women with two of whom he married being Almeda Richardson of Texas and Lenela of Redbird Oklahoma. Any information would be appreciated.

In regards to Ned and Malinda Gaines it is unclear where he died but she is buried in Oklahoma. Malinda died March 25th 1902 according to the affidavit submitted by her son Macky Gaines to the BIA for the Chickasaw Nation when the family applied for Freedmen enrollment.

Per Texas Birth Index, 1903-1997 (http://search.ancestry.com/search/db.aspx?dvid=8781) your father's parents were William Merle Ruddell/Jeannette Barbara Walker. They divorced and there is a public records address for your grandfather in Grass Valley, OR. Your father married (#3) on 23 Mar 2002 in Callahan County, TX. There are public record addresses for your father and grandmother in Clyde, TX. Good luck!

I am a McSwain, great grandaughter of George and Julia, my grandfather was Eldon M McSwain, knox county Tx.

I am also having problems with information.
Have you found anything yet..I am not sure of the connection with John F and Mary...
Eldons brother, Russell said their names were George and Ida.
The census from George says TN NC NC..
Which McSwain are you related to?

The problems is Our first ancestor in the U.S. was named John, and he arrived in 1636 from Ireland...
Not David from Scotland.
Unless David did not come from Scotland in 1732?

Trust your research! The death certificate is obviously in error! Most of the family relocated to Prairie County, AR and they are easily traced back to Cleveland County, NC. There were no George/Ida born early enough to parent George F., 27 Sep 1869.

I found genevieve, She is buried side by side with her mother Alice Jones in hobbs new mexico at prairie hill memorial park cemetery.. On the tombstone though genevieve name is spelled jannie vive wright! I made memorials for them at findagrave!

Do you have the maiden name of Jenny? Where she was born? Every little fact is important in tracking down a person.
I found the death certificate for James E. Wright. He was born 2 April 1885 in Texas; father A. Wright born in Kentucky; mother Sallie Stockton born in Kentucky. James Wright died in an accident in Howard County, Texas on 2 August 1938; buried Lubbock Texas on 3 August 1938. Informant for death certificate was Lynn Wright of Lubbock, Texas.

I sure would like to have a copy of the documentation supporting the origins of Ned and Malinda indicating Mayumba shore...Congo. Who is Master Bice? Where does he come from? What does he do? It all sounds wonderful but without references and documentation, it means little. Please provide documents and/or provide instructions on obtaining such documents.

However, his death certificate says he was buried in Seagraves 10 April 1923 and usual residence was in Seagraves. He died in Spur, Dickens county same day, was married, age and year of birth not noted father was George Winn Sr mother a PAYNE per C G (Clifford George) Winn of Seagraves.

Jessie Winn , wife of George Green Winn (born Leon County) was a PAYNE (born in Callahan County) per Elmer Winn's death certificate in Gladewater in 1947.

You said he was born in 1965 meant 1865. I question George Green Winn's mother being a Payne.

He his a distant cousin of my husband's. I have his death cert but the burial place just says Seagraves. Iknow where all of his children are buried as well as his wife.

Maybe he is buried in Dickens county.

This is what I found out at the courthouse, they have a listing of a Mrs. Winn that bought Lot 5 block 77 in the Seagraves Cemetery, but no one is buried there. The lot shows empty. I have a place I am searching in Dickens, Texas on the one I told you about earlier. If I had your e-mail address I would correspond that way it would be easier. What relation is he to you. I love to do this type of work.

I am going to Seminole after while to the courthouse, I have some other errands to run also. But I have been on www.familysearch.com and I found a George A. Winn Jr. that was born 1-1865 in Leon, Texas and died 4-10-1923 in Dickens, Texas, he married jessie A. Payne. His father was a senior born in South Carolina in 1831 and was married two times, once to Amanda L. Phillips 1853 in Leon, Texas, then a Martha Jane Phillips. Does this sound familar??Let me know.

This information is from a choctaw legal book of touson county choctaw nation, some of the date go back to about 1888,there is a judge J.A. Garland, mentioned through-out this old book, it is complete with seals, this area would be around ft.towson oklahoma.
