My grandfathers grandfather, Gustav Beyer came by way of Galveston to Fredricksburg (Gillespie County) between 1870-80 -- I could get more specific but all my research is at home. He brought his wife and two or three of his boys (one of which was Adolph). I understand that he did not live in Fredricksburg but a few years before setteling down in Menard Texas.

Gustav was a machinest by trade, so he may have worked on some windmills, irragation projects, ect.
