Abstracted from "Gonzales Inquirer", Gonzales Co., Texas: Waelder Pastor Died in San Antonio Sun., Rev. J. W. Long, Methodist Pastor of Waelder Dies, Rev. J. W. Long, pastor of the Methodist church at Waelder, died, in a San Antonio hospital Sunday morning following an operation performed previously. His condition had been critical for several days.
Rev. Mr. Long was 64 yrs. old. Survivors: wife and daughter, Miss Eva Long, both of Waelder. He had been a member of the West Texas Conference for 38 years. His remains taken to Hondo (Medina Co.). Services by Rev. J.M. Alexander, retired; Rev. C.E. Wheat of Hebbronville Methodist church. Etc.
