I contacted the Gray County Clerk in Pampa and they provided me the details ($21 M.O or Cashier's Check; copy of Driver's License; full name and Date of Death) to get my mother's death certificate. I am not sure about the will, but that would be good info to have as well. Hope this helps.

Hello Good to sort of meet you. My dad was Elgin he was just 3 years older than Uncle Walter. In fact he was the last of the children born in Forestburg Montague County Texas, After Grandparents moved to Oklahoma which was between 1905 and 1910. They had 2 more children a boy Joe and girl Alta Mae Morris. I always liked Uncle Walter even though he didn't come to Oklahoma very often but we knew hard it was to make a living in those days. My dad died in 1973. If I can helpyou in your research I give it my best Shot.
Lillie

Well i have lots of death records but Not at the time I posted that. I knew her name but I was looking for the cemetery Walter J Morris was my fathers brother. He had just moved back to Texas when he died. He had been living for few years but decided he wanted to go home. I found his death record because his new wife I don't think had much info on the family. The pilot search don't work any longer you have to go to www.familysearch.org

Per https://familysearch.org/ Walter J. Morris wed #2 Alma B. Todd (24 Jan 1876) then #3 Anna T. Moran (11 Jul 1980). Alma Beatrice Todd/Sam McKinley Line have birth records in Hutchinson County. Strickly supposition: Annie Rooney "Totty" was daughter of Frank Marion Totty/Margarette Elizabeth Cantrell. She was married to Hill Lindley "Doc" Trimble (18 Aug 1908 - 19 Jul 1964). There is a birth record in Wheeler County.

Thanks for your reply. I had a nice relative of Robbie send me the info and some pictures of Uncle Walter, Robbie and the 2 children they had. I do appreciate your reply. My email was hacked and I lost all my contacts and emails for that matter. This person also run the msg boards and copy pasted the onto a new message with my old nick just different numbers. I Think I have solved the problem since I reformatted and reloaded my info. Thanks God for ancestry online Trees I probably would lost all my info. This thing tampering with my email did not show on malware - antiVirus -Online scan - several of them Norton McAfee Houscalls. I had no choice. I think they wanted Money Trail Info. It don't happen with me since my connection works a network of people that use their service. I feel Its not that secure no matter what you run for security. Recovering stuff slowly.

Definitely not kin might not even be from the same planet?(lol) If you desire, I'll see if I can "rustle up" a few cousins!(lol) Agree the 1940 census is somewhat addictive. Fortunately, my roots are in one of the smallest Texas Counties. Less than 10,000 people at peak years (baby boom), I've looked at every name several times.

Thank you so much for your help! You have no idea how much that means to me. I had only just begun with this a week ago when I starting reading the 1940 census. So interesting and yet so time consuming! :) I certainly appreciate your information regarding my grandfather. Only met him once when I was 5. Also so many of his family had nicknames which makes searching even more difficult. I did know he was married before (and after possibly) my grandmother and that he had Marie and Virginia but again Virginia was called Janie . Go figure. So you say we are not related? Thank you again , Linda Sullivan Horecka

I missed "round one" and am not related! I looked at your tree and believe you could use a "little" help? Your grandfather was married earlier to Mabel Hardin. See 1920 Gray-Mclean-District 97-Image 1. Bernice M.(5) and Virginia F.(0/12) identified as grandaughters beneath Mable R.(21). Confirmation of their parentage found on death certificates: Virginia Faye Jones (10 Dec 1919 - 11 Apr 1939) and Marie Bernice Gifford (11 Jun 1914 - 14 Mar 1970). Jim Wright Sullivan (22 Apr 1888 - 6 Jun 1965) parents identified as George W. Sullivan (21 Mar 1862 - 29 Dec 1939) and Willmeth Ann (nee: Bullard) Sullivan (2 May 1865 - 15 May 1953). Death certificates viewable/printable https://familysearch.org/ You'll need to setup a "free" user account. Siblings of James/"Jim" Sullivan: John L. (Oct 1890), Buena Vista Gregory (2 Apr 1894 - 9 Nov 1966), Eliza Fay Wilson (12 May 1897 - 20 Feb 1993), and George O. Sullivan (7 May 1900 - May 1976). Holler back if additional help needed?

I know this is an old thread but will go ahead and make the correction. My grandfather was James Wright Sullivan and he married Mavie L Cunningham. They had one son together (my father) James Alden Sullivan born May, 19 1928 and died June 27 of 2004. Thank you for your time. Linda Sullivan Horecka

Seeking Thomas Family Bible - John Thomas b. 1733 - Lived St. Clair's Bottom Virginia

!NOTE: The Thomas Family History Organization must of had access to the cover page of our [South Fork of the Holston River] John Thomas' Family Bible? We have birth dates for all of Mary (Robinett) Thomas' children - including Sarah Thomas and Mary Thomas, who we know nothing about. Uncle Harry Delbert Thomas stated that he had some documentation records but they were in his brief case and he put the brief case on top of his car, (forgot about the brief case on top of the car), and drove off. He said he never saw the brief case again. The Thomas Family History Organization was mostly Thomas family members living in Colorado and Utah, (maybe some from Virginia). Actually the Thomas Family History Organization was mostly Great Uncle Harry Delbert Thomas. I think I remember him saying he went back to Virginia two, if not several times? - Again since we have all the birth dates of their children, (even those children we know nothing about) there must be a Bible record out there? - Would just like a copy of the Birth - Death dates - I am appealing to all Thomas family members - (Even those of Pampa, Gray County, Texas - Descendants of David Taylor Thomas) - Need a copy of all documentation records, (Bible - Birth - Death Records - etc), so that we can do research on our Thomas Family - Of recent we have documented our [South Fork of the Holston River] John Thomas & Mary (Robinett) Thomas to Loudoun County, Virginia (1767 - 1768) and their being Baptized into the New Valley Baptist Church of Lucketts, Cameron Parish, Loudoun County, Virginia. The following is a link to the Research of our [South Fork of the Holston River] John Thomas. - Thanks - Don Martin Thomas

Here is a link to John Thomas b. 1733 Research at www.rootsweb.com

http://wc.rootsweb.ancestry.com/cgi-bin/igm.cgi?op=GET&d...

Here is a link to John Thomas b. 1733 Research at ancestry.com - just e-mail me at donmartinthomas@hotmail.com and I will send you a Guest pass to ancestry.com & this database if you are not a member of ancestry.com - so that you can view the Research - copy & paste to address bar on computer

http://trees.ancestry.com/tree/12264403/person/-300817901

I have looked for an obit for Lillie Brewer on 14 January 1990 and for a week thereafter, and for some reason I do not find one in the "Pampa News". Maybe she had no relatives living in Pampa to put one in for her? Sorry.

John A.
Thanks so much, John! It's been a while since I posted those inquiries.

I have one of the Blevins who died in Pampa, TX, but is buried in Yukon, OK, but I cannot locate an OK obit. She is from Pampa area & lived there for some time before her death as well, so maybe there is one in Pampa News. Would you be able to see if there is an obit for her? Here is her info:
******Lillie (Blevins) Brewer, d.14 Jan 1990 Pampa

Thanks again,
Amy
aws1976genie@hotmail.com
