Need help locating Confederate Soldier grave

Posted: 26 Oct 2013 10:39AM GMT
Classification: Query
Surnames: Rook
John J Rook is shown in Denison TX directories in 1887, 1891, and 1896. His daughter Ida Rook is also listed in the 1891. A Confederate Pension record shows death date of 10 Mar 1898. Birth was about 1828 in GA. He's not in the same cemetery as his wife Silvia A Rooks (Cooke County findagrave #69958484).

I doubt that he has a Confederate grave marker, since those apparently weren't furnished until 1906. He seems to be a nearly forgotten man in spite of having seven children. I discovered recently that he was a brother of my GGG grandfather, and have found no other family trees that list him.

He fought with the 3rd Confederate Cavalry during the Civil War, and was ordained as a Baptist minister a year afterward in DeKalb County AL.

I feel he was buried somewhere near Denison. Any help would be appreciated.
