Henry Haney STEVENSON and wife Minnie Odessa ??

I am looking for the maiden name of Minnie Odessa STEVENSON, wife/widow of Henry Haney STEVENSON.
She and Henry H. are buried in Parklawn Memorial Gardens.
They must have married after 1930 Census, as Henry was still single then and living in Union Co New Mexico then.
Henry died 10/19/1973 in Plainview, and his death certificate shows he had lived in Plainview for 17 years.

Minnie died 4/15/1977, but the cemetery info at Parklawn which is online at http://unger.myplainview.com/cemetery/cemetery.php?row_id=28... does not show her maiden name. Henry was born in Wise Co TX in 7/4/1895, s/o George STEVENSON and Texas Magdalene "Maggie" HANEY.

I don't know where Henry and Minnie O. may have married, but thought I would ask if anyone could check marriage licenses in Hale Co to see if they were married in this county. Or would there be records at the Lemons funeral home which handled their burials?

I am looking for the maiden name of Mrs Mollie Moreland b. 25 Jan 1867 and d. 14 Dec 1943. She died in Dallas but is buried in the family plot in Plainview Cemetery. She married Samuel Jackson Moreland in about 1885. The 1900 Census in Hill Co., Texas states they had been married 15 years. Both parents and several of their children are buried at Plainview Cemetery in lots 1231 thru 1238. Thanks for any help.

Hi. I have a marriage certificate for my great grandfather and great grandmother. They are Earl Weimar and Ruth Rhine married on 26 June 1910.

On the front of the certificate is says it's recorded in Book 1 Page 233 of Marriage Records.

Looking for information in regard to Bralio Nuncio and his family. Date of birth November 29 ,1929 Unclear as to place of birth, possibly Texas or Italy.Maybe Tillman County ,Oklahoma. Date of death was November 1980.Odessa, Ector County Texas. Currently in the process of locating his death certificate which may answer some questions but not all.
The information that I would like would be in regard to his parents and his siblings. I am also interested in locating any of Bralio's children. My wife was told that she was his oldest daughter born in April of 1964. Have found recent information that states Bralio had a son named Bralio Jr. and a daughter Josie Nuncio born in or around March of 1970. We have no information in regard to wheather Jr. was born before 1964 or after 1966/67.

I am looking for information on a murder that perhaps took place in Hale County, maybe between 1930 and 1940. In the 1930 census, Leslie Pryce Shaw is listed as a school teacher in Abernathy, Hale County (although it appears that ‘Supt’ – Superintendent? – was written and then crossed out). The story passed down in the family is that Leslie had been threatened by a man who thought Leslie was not treating his son right. The man said if Leslie did not treat the kid better, he would come after him with a gun. One day their paths crossed and Leslie thought the man was going for his gun (turns out he wasn't, he was taking his gun to town to have it sighted/repaired). So Leslie shot him and he died. Leslie was a very smart man, the gun was not found, and he was able to eventually get out of prison. [This event may have taken place in Tom Green County and I will post to that forum as well. Would like to find someone who could do an obituary look-up. Date of death is one of 2 dates -- either 17 March 1925 or 20 May 1925. The man's name is William A. Adams. He apparently fell from a windmill he was repairing. He is buried in Plainview Cemetery, Hale County, Texas. His mother is Rose Ann Adams nee Stafford, daughter of Andrew and Mary Stafford nee Lang. His father was James M. Adams. They were originally from Morgan County, Indiana. Moved to Hale County Texas between 1900 and 1910. First appears on 1910 and then on 1920 censuses.

Mrs. S.A. Cadenhead died at the home of her daughter, Mrs. J.H. Dunn ten miles north of Plainview at ten o'clock Wednesday morning. Mrs. Cadenhead was born in Comanche County, Texas, February 17th, 1845. Her husband who died 21 years ago was a Confederate veteran and old time Indian fighter. Mrs. Cadenhead used to relate many thrilling experiences that occurred in the early days. Upon one occasion when attacked by Indians, she hid her baby in a brush pile and concealed herself in the branches of a tree where she was forced to remain until morning. After prowling about all night, the Indians left without discovering their hiding places. Mrs. Cadenhead was the mother of twelve children, eight of whom are now living. The funeral services will be held at Kress tomorrow afternoon and internment will be made in Kress Cemetery under the direction of Garner Brothers,

I am looking for information on the family of Arthur M. Smith, b. 4 March 1862 in Missouri. He was in Hale County for the 1920 and 1930 census. In 1920, he was living with wife, Lena Maude, and granddaughter, Lena Maude. The wife died 6 June 1922 and is buried in the Plainview Cemetery. In about 1926, Arthur married Emma Jean McCleskey, my grandaunt. Arthur and Emma along with Emma's mother, Mary Louise Jackson McCleskey (the census calls her Jane) are listed on the 1930 census. Arthur died 7Aug 1943 and is buried next to Lena Maude in the Plainview Cemetery. Emma Jean died 19 Jan 1979 and is also buried in the Plainview Cemetery.

Can't find a date of death for Pietje or William. William also went by W F. He died in approx 1946 or 1947. I know Minnie married O. Fluke and moved to CA in the 40's and she died there later. Jennie married Richard Wilson and moved to CO. What happened to WF and Pietje?

Does anyone have any historical information, references, stories on this pair, their sons and daughters and where are the descendants today. Four researchers working on the Ferguson family of Texas and we all share information since no research done in 60 years!

Mary E Cannon Stevens/Stephens

My gr grandmother Mary E was married first to William Cannon who passed away after they had three children, she then married A W Stevens and had another child. This marriage took place about 1877, child D W Stephens/Stevens was born 1878. She came to live with my grandfather in 1910 in Afton and then she dissappears. I was told she went to Plainview to live, I'm thinking that is where D W was living. In 1949, some Stevens came to Spur to see the Cannon side of the relatives and my dad and aunt turned them away. I would like to find these people. Any help would be appreciated. On one census I find Stevens and on another Stephens. Mary E could neither read or write so I'm sure it's back and forth all the time, depending on who is doing the writing.

My grandmother Archia "Opal" {SMITH} RAY and COLE worked on a farm in the area and raised my sisters Martha M RAY and Ella Lee COLE and my brothers James Robert COLE and Jack Randall COLE untill they married and or left the area. I have info on them after they left but nothing during the time they lived with Opal in this area. Opal changed her name from COLE back to RAY during this time before mooving to Oklahoma City in the 50's or 60's. Any info you may have will help me a great deal. My grandfather was ROBERT BOLIVAR MARTIN from Trinity County but when I was a little girl we used to drive to Lubbock, Hale County, Texas to a graveyard and visit the graves of our MARTIN ancestors. In fact I remember that my grandfather's twin brother, who died at birth (1885) was buried there. This was many years ago and I can't remember the name of the cemetery. Any help would be appreciated. Ross was married to Lervegie Thomason and they had three children: Hazel, William F. and Ross Eugene. Nothing on Nana. B.F. and Flora buried in Center Plains Cemetery. Ross, Lervegie & son Ross buried in Hale Center Cemetery.

William W. (1873-1937) married to Maggie (1884-1962). They had two children: J.P. (1906-1966) and Eula (1916-?) William, Maggie & J.P. all buried in Hale Center Cemetery. No information on Eula.

(not positive have never personally met them) Grandmothers name would be Bertha Mae Wilson ( madien name Anslow) but had a daughter Tammy Hill . Bertha was married in the 60's to my grandfather Kenneth L Wilson Sr. , and a few years later they were divorced. During there marriage they had 2 children together. A daughter (terri - my mother) and a son (my uncle- kenneth Wilson jr.). I am searching for these women for medical reasons. THIS IS VERY VERY VERY IMPORTANT. Last know place was OK and TX. "ELIZA MARY TEDFORD was born in Kerr County, Texas, September 14, 1884, moved to the Plains in 1895, and on September 11, 1902, was married to J. W. Letsinger, at Plainview, Texas. She was the mother of five children:
Susie May, James Alton, Mary Jane, William Ralph and Ella Virginia, all of whom are living except Ella Virginia, the three year old baby who died in her mother's arms in the accident in which Mrs. Letsinger was killed near Monroe Switch, on April 13, about 5 o'clock in the afternoon.

Besides her children and husband she leaves a father, three brothers, three sisters, and a host of friends to mourn her loss. Her father, W. H. Tedford, and brothers, Milton, Alton and Ralph and one sister, Mrs. Ethel Morton live at Friona, Texas. One sister Mrs. W. B. Crow, lives at Ranger, and the other sister, Mrs. Annie Brown, lives at Belen, New Mexico.

Mrs Letsinger was a good Christian woman, loved by all who knew her and her death was a great loss to the community in which she lived. Cynthia (Morton) Hurt Mitchell 1846-1927

Cynthia Morton was born in Lincoln Co. Tennessee in 1846, the daughter of William C. and Eliza Jane (Freeman) Morton. These parents are buried in White Rock Cemetery, south of Bonham in Fannin Co.The family moved to Texas in the fall of 1846, and they are recorded in Red River Co. in 1850 census. She married Finess E. Hurt in Fannin Co. in 1865. ( His mother was Mary, born in Missouri). They moved to Travis Co. Texas later on, and Finess was killed by a wild horse in 1873. He is buried in Round Rock Cem.
They had several children, some of which later moved to Hale County. Lee was one of them.I think that he was a pastor as was his half brother Perry Mitchell. Cynthia married Ela Mitchell in 1875 in Bell Co. Texas and they had several Mitchell children who later moved to Hale and Swisher Co. Ela was killed in a tornado on April 27, 1883. There is a diary written by Mrs. Mitchell that exists. The cemetery where he was buried is said to have been mowed over for a housing development.
Mrs. Mitchell later moved to northeast of Plainview, and she died in January of 1927. I believe she is buried at Plainview.
The death certificate for Mrs. Mitchell says (Truman) for her mother, and it is really FREEMAN. There is a lot of background information on her FREEMAN family and some on her MORTON side. There may be Gillilands that live in Tulia that are related to her. Please contact me if you wish.

I am suspecting that she is the same person as Elizabeth Rachel Dunn who was born in Dowlais,Glamorganshire,Wales about 1877 and married a James Leroy Bogle and lived in California until the death of her husband in 1947 in Los Angeles County. William Ralph, 9. Ira Isim, 10. Hattie Alvora (m 1. Pierce Fuller, 2. Everett Rimell, 3. Burney Fisher) 11. Myra Mae. The John Thomas Boydston family is said to have moved to NM in 1917. Most of these families lived in TX.

I am interested in child #11, Myra Mae (b 6 Apr 1901, Jones Co, TX, d 1970, Plainview, TX). Myra married Henry Orville Bogle (b 24 Dec 1897, Emporia, Lyon Co, KS, d Jan 1978). Orville and Myra reared several of her sister's sons. They also raised Jackie (of no relation), who was a school teacher at Moriety, New Mexico. Orville and Myra had 3 children: 1. Mary Alvora, died at 1 year of age after being scalded with hot tea; buried next to maternal grandmother Sarah Eliza Alvora Fleming at White Oaks, NM, 2. Jay, m Bea ____ (although some sources suggest his name was Henry Orville Bogle Jr), and 3. James Robert. In 1947 Henry Orville's widowed mother, Elizabeth Rachel Dunn Bogle, moved in with the family. She died 5 May 1966 and is buried in Plainview.

I am interested in any information about the Henry Orville Bogle/Myra Mae Boydston family, and look forward to hearing from anyone who knows about them.

I have just verified that Elizabeth Rachel Bogle b 1877.d.1966 was indeed my hsuband's great aunt.I have also found out that she had 3 children two of which were Henry Orville Bogle who lived at 2516 Fisher Stree in Plainview,Texas in 1966, and John L. Bogle who was living in El Monte,Calif. in 1966. She had a daughter but don't know her name, but she was married to a C.J. Brown and lived in Capistrano,Calif. in 1966.

Bowlin/Copeland buried near Abernathy

I am hoping that someone can help me.

My great grand father, William H. Bowlin, died near Abernathy, Texas back in the late 1920's. I think it is probably somewhere between 1926 and 1929.

Is there a way to check to confirm that he in fact died there and possibly provide me with a date of death and where he might be buried?

I would like to get a copy of his death certificate from Austin, but can't without the correct information.

I am also searching for his mother. Her name was Julia Bowlin Copeland. I am not sure of her maiden name as Bowlin was the name of her first husband. She is also suppposed to have died in or near Abernathy. Any help would be much appreciated.

William Nelson Clark, an individual in the family history I am writing, is listed in the sources I have as having "died in Wayland, TX, at the home of his daughter TyPhosia" with a date given as 31 January 1940. I know that in 1930 his daughter was married to a man named C (maybe middle name of Rich) Smith and they were living in Chapman, NE. She was a teacher so it is possible that she went to the college there to teach, but I'm not sure why Wayland would have been given as a place since I don't think there is actually a city named Wayland? He and his wife Mary were both living with the Smiths in 1930 so I assume his normal residence was with the daughter. I had hoped the local paper here in MO would have picked up the obituary since he spent most of his life here, but I can't find it. I have some discrepancies that I hope an obit might clear up if anyone can steer me the right direction. Is there an online source that goes back that far with obits?

His wife was Amanda Lee, who died in 1930 and is buried in the Abernathy area. They had a son, Barnie, who continued to live in Abernathy after 1930.
