Hattie O. Schmidt, 88 of Austin died Wednesday, Dec. 29. Funeral services were Dec. 31 at St. John Lutheran Church with Pastor Tim Anderson officiating. Burial was at Austin Memorial Park.
Mrs. Schmidt was born June 13, 1911 in Hamilton County and lived all of her life in Austin. She retired after 30 years of service with AISD and was a founding member of St. John Lutheran Church.
She is preceded in death by her husband Eldon Schmidt in 1992, three sons, Kermit, Mickey and Skeeter Schmidt; four brothers and one sister.
Survivors include her son, Charles Schmidt and wife Pat of Red Rock; five grandchildren; 4 great-grandchildren; a sister, Viola Krueger of Hamilton, and numerous nieces and nephews.
